5 ChatGPT Prompts Every Real Estate Agent Should Save to Work Smarter, Not Harder

If you’ve ever stared at your laptop at the end of a long day — knowing you still need to write that client email, post on Instagram, or update a listing description — you’re not alone.

As real estate agents, we wear a lot of hats. And while hustle culture tells us to just “push harder,” I believe God calls us to steward our time with clarity. Because peace isn’t a luxury — it’s part of how we show up well for our families, our businesses, and ourselves.

That’s why I’ve been leaning into tools that create margin. ChatGPT is one of them. And before you roll your eyes — no, it’s not here to replace you. It’s here to help you cut through the noise, get unstuck, and reclaim your time.

On this month’s podcast, I shared how to use ChatGPT efficiently and effectively (without spending hours playing around with it). Today, I want to give you something practical: five plug-and-play prompts you can copy, paste, and use right now.

Listen here:

These are the exact prompts I wish I had when I first started experimenting. They’re detailed, strategic, and designed to give you outputs that actually feel like you.

1. Client Follow-Ups

We’ve all dropped the ball on follow-ups. Not because we don’t care — but because the day gets full, the inbox piles up, and suddenly it’s been three days since that showing.

Prompt to Copy:

Act as a top-producing real estate agent. Write a warm follow-up email to [CLIENT TYPE: first-time buyer / move-up seller / investor] who toured a [PROPERTY TYPE] at [ADDRESS or NEIGHBORHOOD] yesterday. Highlight the feature they loved most: [insert detail]. Keep it professional yet personal, show excitement about their goals, and close with a clear next step (book another tour, schedule a call, or discuss an offer). Format with a strong subject line + short paragraphs for easy reading.

Why It Works:

This doesn’t just remind you to check in — it gives you a thoughtful draft that feels personalized. Swap in the details, and you’ve got a message that strengthens relationships and keeps momentum alive.

2. Market Updates

Clients want to feel informed, but they don’t need another chart full of numbers. They need context.

Prompt to Copy:

You are a trusted real estate advisor writing a market update for [CITY/NEIGHBORHOOD]. Summarize the latest data on average home prices, days on market, and inventory. Explain what it means for buyers (affordability, opportunities) and for sellers (competition, pricing power). Keep the tone clear and encouraging — not doomsday. Format the update into 3 short sections with headers: "The Numbers," "What It Means for You," and "Next Step." Include a friendly closing that invites them to reach out with questions.

Why It Works:

Instead of overwhelming clients with jargon, this delivers a clear market story they can actually understand — and positions you as their steady guide, even in shifting seasons.

3. Listing Descriptions

Confession: even seasoned agents dread writing MLS descriptions. The pressure is real.

Prompt to Copy:

Write a compelling MLS listing description for a [# of bedrooms] BR / [# of bathrooms] BA home in [CITY/NEIGHBORHOOD]. Style it like a lifestyle story — help buyers imagine themselves living there. Highlight unique features: [insert amenities]. Create an engaging opening hook, bullet 3 key selling points, and close with a call to action. Keep it professional but warm, with just the right mix of emotion and detail.

Why It Works:

This gives you a lifestyle-driven narrative and a bullet-point breakdown. That means you can copy straight into the MLS and also repurpose for social posts and flyers — all without reinventing the wheel.

4. Social Media Captions

Showing up online is non-negotiable. But staring at a blinking cursor? Not it.

Prompt to Copy:

Act as a social media strategist for real estate. Write 5 engaging Instagram captions for a post about [topic: new listing / testimonial / home tip]. Mix short punchy one-liners, storytelling captions, and question-style captions to boost comments. Each caption should: (1) use a warm, approachable voice, (2) include a clear CTA ("DM me to tour," "Comment your favorite feature," etc.), and (3) suggest 3 relevant hashtags. Deliver the captions numbered 1–5.

Why It Works:

Instead of one caption, you instantly have five — all with built-in CTAs and hashtags. That’s consistency made easy.

5. Repurposing Content

This is where the leverage really shows.

Prompt to Copy:

Take this content [paste blog, podcast summary, or video transcript] and repurpose it into:

- 2 Instagram captions (short + engaging)

- 1 LinkedIn post (professional tone, 3–5 short paragraphs with a hook)

- 1 email draft (subject line + body under 250 words, warm and personal)

Keep the tone consistent, professional, and encouraging. Make each version tailored to the platform (hashtags for IG, professional framing for LinkedIn, conversational for email). Include suggested emojis for IG captions.

Why It Works:

You don’t need to create from scratch every day. This one prompt multiplies your effort across four platforms. Less hustle, more impact.
